# Experiment #26: What the shoe-building note actually connects to

**Date:** October 04, 2026
**Model:** none (repository search and one public page)
**Version:** 1
**First run:** October 04, 2026, no model called

## Hypothesis

A "shoe building" manufacturing tie-in would be a partnered factory project, separate from the research log. Either that project exists under another name, or the only shoe work is the already published unbuilt footwear design study.

## Method

Searched this repository for shoe, footwear, and manufacturing language. Searched GitHub code under `jravinder` for `shoe` and `footwear`. Opened the only HD hits. Read `data/experiment_011_chorea_footwear_report.md`, `docs/evidence/shoe-281/source-audit.md`, `src/design/collaboration_brief.py`, and `AGENT_STATUS.md`. Confirmed pull request 282 on `jravinder/hd-research-agent`. Fetched the public Formlabs page already cited by the source audit: https://formlabs.com/blog/new-balance-formlabs-drive-footwear-performance-customization/

No shoe was designed, rendered, or built in this run. EXP-011 was not rewritten.

## Result

- The only Huntington's-related footwear project in that search is Experiment #11 in this repository: "A footwear concept for chorea-related instability." Registry date July 15, 2026. Model field: "AI-assisted design study; model not recorded." Page `experiment-11.html`. It is a design study (`run_state: design`), unbuilt, unvalidated, and not for wear.
- Pull request 282, "feat: inspectable EXP-011 shoe concept lab with verified evidence boundaries," merged as `e3bb9d1` on 2026-09-13. `AGENT_STATUS.md` says the same and says the shoe is illustrative and not for wear.
- The original report's manufacturing section is a capability map. It names Adidas 4D / Futurecraft, New Balance + 3D Systems (TripleCell), and Materialise Phits. The 2026-09-13 source audit says that map is not a manufacturing specification, not a partnership, and that TripleCell was developed with Formlabs, not 3D Systems.
- The Formlabs page (dated 28 Jun 2019) describes New Balance's own TripleCell platform and a Formlabs partnership, including small-scale manufacturing in Lawrence, MA. That page does not mention Huntington's disease or this project. It does not create a relationship with EXP-011.
- `src/design/collaboration_brief.py` says the brief is not a medical device, product, partnership, or solicitation to buy or wear anything.
- Other `shoe` hits under `jravinder` are unrelated: `sports-ai` uses "white shoe" as a ball-tracking distractor; `brainbox` has a public benchmark question about shoes; `schoolsupply-run` has a test line "Gym shoes, non-marking." None are HD manufacturing.

No factory agreement, purchase order, prototype, or partner confirmation was found.

## Log

- GitHub code search for `shoe` and `footwear` under owner `jravinder`
- Local read of EXP-011, the shoe-281 audit, the collaboration brief, and AGENT_STATUS.md
- `gh pr view 282` showed state MERGED and merge commit `e3bb9d1e199ab13a50d2eb317f365006f4b41843`
- One public page fetch, the Formlabs TripleCell post

updated by searching the repo, Ravi's GitHub code, and the Formlabs page named in the existing audit. No connection beyond EXP-011 was found, and none was invented.
